I think the whole waterproof thing is the main reason that most people don’t buy it. You don’t want to get wet at the beach, or at the movies, or in the shower, or on a boat, or in a car. It is, after all, a camera. It is not, like a camera, a gadget. You would never ever want to take it on a boat, to the bathroom, to the cinema or anywhere else.

If you do, take it off, and just carry it around with you. I know that seems like a contradiction, but a waterproof cam is a camera. A camera is a gadget. It is not a gadget that is waterproof. And yes, it is probably going to get wet, but it may not. In fact, it is likely to get wet more than a camera that is not waterproof.

The point is, if you’re going to take a camera on an adventure/excursion, take it with you. If it gets wet, it doesn’t matter. It is waterproof. If it gets wet, it’s not waterproof. And if it’s not waterproof, then it is not a camera.
